My name is Dr. Terry L. Lawson and my wife's name is Christy. We are Church Planters to the state of Washington. Our sending church is Calvary Baptist Church in King, NC. Our family will be birthing a ministry in Gig Harbor, Washington.
We are excited about the work that God has called us to do. We want to expose you to the need and share our heart for the great Northwest! We trust that the information provided here will give you a greater insight to the work that needs to be done in Gig Harbor, Washington.
Our family has a vision and belief that the Lord's will for us is to plant a church in the state of Washington. We are seeking churches and individuals who will partner together with us in prayer and monthly support. We are asking those who have the same concerns to reach our nation with the hope of the Good News, to unite with us! We will be preaching the glorious gospel of Jesus Christ. We are asking you to assist us in this exciting new ministry.

According to the 2009 census estimate, the population of Pierce County is 796,836 people. The city of Gig Harbor has a population of 7,507 people within the city limits. However, there are over 70,000 people living in the local area and surrounding towns and communities. There is not one independent Baptist work on Gig Harbor Peninsula. Gig Harbor and Pierce County are not alone. There are several surrounding areas that have no gospel witness. The Bible says, "How shall they hear without a preacher" (Romans 10:14).

Our prayer and heart's desire is to bring the gospel to the people in Washington State where there are no fundamental, Bible-Believing churches. Our goal is to plant a self-governing, self-supporting, self-propagating church in Washington State starting in Gig Harbor, Washington. We plan to do this by knocking on doors, preaching the gospel, and sharing the love of Jesus Christ with the people.
